In addition, obesity has increased in recent years because rate of people obese was lower back in the 90?s. Likewise, a study revealed back in 1994 that 33% of Americans were overweight and only 22.9% were obese. Also, these startling statistics are showing that people don?t really care about their health. Furthermore, if the obesity problem is continue then the government will need to put more money towards healthcare. All and all, obesity is a problem that affects everyone either directly or indirectly.

As a result, people who are dealing with obesity are eating 523 calories more than 30 years ago. In addition, the reason for the obese problem in America is that people are eating more and doing less physical activities. Also, people are consuming 63% more fats and oils. Couple with, people are including 43% more refined grains in their diet. Moreover, Americans are consuming 400% more sugar on a daily basis. Furthermore, Americans are taken in more calories and exercising less then past years.

The United States is spending over 100 billion dollars in healthcare because of obesity. In addition, this number is expected to rise for years to come.
