Rusty Hilger of OSU fame speaks out on the NFL lockout

The former Oklahoma State standout led the Raiders to two wins before a strike by the NFL players union against the collective bargaining agreement halted the season in Week 3.

When it resumed, the Raiders lost three games with Hilger under center and his days as a franchise quarterback in Los Angeles were over. He played five years with other NFL teams despite battling injuries.

In light of the current NFL lockout, Hilger shared his thoughts on the league while in Tulsa for a recent celebrity golf tournament.

"In the United States of America, workers have rights and nobody can be enslaved," he said. "In the NFL, legally they can enslave you. Once they pick you, you have no chance to move whether you like them or not."
