Greater Hampton Amateur extends deadline to Thursday
The deadline for the popular Greater Hampton Amateur Championship at The Woodlands Golf Course has been extended from Wednesday until 5 p.m. Thursday.
As of Tuesday morning, Woodlands manager Patty Lewis said she already had 120 entries for the 54-hole tournament, which opens a three-day run at 7 a.m. Friday. Last year's event attracted 149 players.
For those interested in playing, call the golf course at 727-1195 or go by the course to sign up. The entry fee is $110.
Former champs entered are Mike Askew of Hampton, Ken Zucchini of Virginia Beach, and Chip Cutrone of Chesapeake. Also heading the list of entries are low handicappers B.J. Maben of Hampton, Stu Blau of Hampton, and Nick Crowe of Williamsburg. ...
